I have a 99 ford Windstar that just started over heating. When putting coolant into the reservoir it does not fill up, just keeps draining. Takes about 10 minutes to over heat and then it starts to smoke. I think the heater core just went out too because it started smoking inside the van. This all just started out of the blue and I have never had problems before.

I flushed and changed the oil and even put in a higher viscosit 10w-40 Instead of the normal 5w-30 I put in it... It's still ticking... It has gone on for about 2 weeks now and I believe that this helped but didn't fix the problem... What do i do?

I have a 1993 Chevy Cavalier Z24 2.4 Liter. When driving at a speed 20-50 mph and you press the accelerator, the car will slow down a bit, rpms will drop slightly and then it will "catch" and give a slight jerk. Also the car has a low idle and sometimes will shake a fair amount as if it's trying to stay running. The car will also stall on occasion when braking to a stop or turn. I have replaced the crank and cam shaft sensors as well as all the spark plugs. My next option is to replace the ignition coil or fuel filter. What should I do? Thanks

I have a 1998 Ford Windstar LG van that sputters when I push on the fuel petal. It also pulls when pushing on the fuel petal and when stopped at a red light or train. There is also a clicking/ back fire sound coming from the back. I'm not sure what the problem is. I do know that cyclender #5 misfires and my check engine light stays on all the time but it flashes off as well.

We have a 1990 G20 series van. It starts idles and runs fine except when accellerating and going up any size hill, then it chuggs like it is gonna die (though it does not). It almost feels like a mix between a chug and a backfire (without the loud bang). It slung the serpentine belt shortly after it started doing it and once replaced it quit for a few days and now has started again. The spark plugs and wires are good. Any ideas what could cause this just on accelleration and up hill?

If I could add sounds to this I would. This morning the engine rev up like it was going to go but did not. This happen as I was pressing down on the gas pedal. The engine is making a very load noise. That is after I drove it .9 miles. Add to the list the things: leak in the rad. hose or could be the water pump. Replaced the lower hose and still leak in the same area but more than before the replacement of the lower hose. I know I have a front oil gasket pan leak and that needs to be replace. I do lose tranny fluid but I can't see where it leaking too. I have been adding that to the tranny. Drive belt needs to be replace very soon.

It will peg out but when I stop or slow down it will go back down and at times will not overheat the rest of the short trip and at times it will go about a mile and overheat again. I have a 1991 Mustang LX 4 cyl 2.3 ltr I'm not sure how it all happened my mom was driving my car while I was in the hospital and called one day and said the clutch was getting a little stiff and the farther she drove it the louder it started to squeal. Had her adjust the clutch and check the belts. Belts are fine it's the clutch. She didn't get it home, said the pedal was too hard, the squeal became all the time, and she couldn't shift it. When I got out I went to it and the clutch is incredibly stiff, the squeal horribly loud (almost like a belt about to go) but was able to start the car and move it in and out of gear with little difficulty and no grinding. (Side note: a year ago, my clutch linkage broke, but since I've had no problems with the clutch or it shifting) Decided to be safe and just have it towed home and then looked at. There's the problem, the mechanic that looked at it didn't crawl under it or anything, just said I would need an entire clutch kit, pressure plate and fly wheel. My dad was a mechanic for years before going OTR and he says it's the baring from what I'm telling him, but hasn't looked at it. If it is just the baring, it's cheap fairly simple fix. If it's everything the first mechanic said, I'm junking the car. A second opinion would be great.

Ford 1989 escort, runs extreemly rich. O2 sensor, map sensor, & temp sensor new. Ford code reader says temp sensor bad. Ive tried 2 new sensors, no change. At running temperature the voltage across the temp sensor is 4.62. All vaccume lines new. Code reader also says EGR valve not opening properly. Any advise? Car normally got 30-35MPG, running this rich, it gets 12-15MPG.

on my 93 exploer i replaced the ignitin coil mass airflow throttle control ,new plugs ,the problem im haveing ,is when its cold itll crank right up ,but after i run it awhile and shut it off it doesnt want to crank ,sometimes i hold the footfed all the way down then it might crank , what do yall suggest ,i really need to get it running

I have a 2002 Focus I just bought used, It has 106,000 miles on it, I put gas in it last night and today It was driving fine. I just went to start it and it turned over and started just fine then it sputtered out. I tried again and pumped the gas a little to see if that solved it and it started grinding and sputted out again. What could this be?

Hello, I've got a 1993 Honda accord lx automatic but the engine inside is a rebuilt F20a. I've been trouble shooting a problem with trying to get it to pass smog for a while now. I had a friend put it on his smog machine to get the CO level and hydrocarbon output. Well it seems that at idle, CO level is at about around 7.38, and hydrocarbon level at about 538. When the car is revved and held at 2000rpms the CO level drops steadily to around 1.12, and hydrocarbon level seems to drop as well to where it should be. The ending result: it fails the test. Im dying to know what the issue is given the fact that I've done replaced and serviced everything there is to just about and I appreciate the help thanks, Cody

I have a 2006 econoline van E-350 5.4L v8 . what is the proper running temperture . The inside gauge shows above the water decal in the gauge . The antifreeze has been checked the dealer ok'd that and I replaced the thermostat . At this point no overheating problems . Am I overly concerned

my car caught on fire and burned the electrical changed fuel injectors they where leaking. now car wont start . spliced wires everthing fit great also replaced topfeed injectors to side feed injectors off an 87 300zx . if i spray starter fluid it cranks momentarily . it also is getting fuel to the pressure regulator please help

When i back off the throttle when idling it winds down slowly and on the road when coming to a stop the rpm is high and when the car comes to a stop it drops down to where it is suppose to be. 2002 Mazda Protege
Hi there, I have a 2002 mazda protege SE. Was running fine up until a few days ago when the temperature here dropped to -30 celcius. I went to start the car and she sputtered and shuddered and the CEL started to blink. There was white "smoke" coming from the tail pipe.
The next day it warmed up to 8 degrees celcius (Yes i live in canada haha) and the car started fine, no shudders no sputters no blinking light. Today we are back down to minus 21 and the shudders and the sputters have begun again.
I havent had it to a garage yet. My financial situation at the moment is not geared for a large repair job and i am trying to gauge what it is before i take it out.
Any answers would be greatly appreciated at this point.

I have a 1989 Camaro with a 305 TBI that idles great. When I put it in gear the idle goes down and it stalls. I have to power brake it to drive without stalling. Once it is driving on the road it is fine until i stop again.

Not Much Problem But Of Late Developed Vibration When Accelerating Gradually From 30km/h To 80km/h And Any Higher Or Press Hard On The Accelerator The Vibration Dissappear. Release The Accelerator The Vibration Disappear. Vibration Is Much More Noticable When The Car Load Increases Or Going Up Hills. Only Happen At Certain Speeds And It Hums On And Off. Very Annoying. The Sad Part Is Toyota Mechanic Claims Nothing Wrong And Its Normal For Camry When At That Aged And Mileage Done. It Won't Create Any Further Damage To The Car Whilst Driving At That Condition. Is This True? I Can't Accept That Kind Of Answer From My Toyota Mechanic. Unless Its A Toyota Design Fault And Trying To Cover Up. Please Advice.

1996 Honda Accord LX
Timing belt broke, replaced it and water pump(while we were there) put new seals in Crankshaft and cam. and a belt(the one at the low end of the Timing belt) Lined it all up and No start. then got new Spark Plugs and when we did a compression test there was no reading at all! I was hoping it didnt do "damage" to anything when the Timing belt broke as I was coasting at about10mph when it happened.... What do you think?
