1992 Chevrolet Cavalier
A few weeks ago my cavalier started occasionally missing. I discovered that the #1 sparkplug was loose in the head. I tightened it up and the car did run better at first. Since then the car has been missing more often and gas mileage has gone down. I replaced the plugs thinking the one had been damaged but it didn't help. I was told that the loose spark plug could have caused damage to my ICM. I have a scanner and there is no codes stored in the ECM and no SES light on. Is it possible that my ICM or coils are damaged from the loose sparkplug. Thanks.

Corscia 3.1 Stalls hot. Runs well cold for about 5 minutes. Soon as it warms up it starts backfiring and shuts down. Let it cool off and it starts back up and runs fine again for about 5 minutes and it shuts down. This happens at an idle in park or driving.

my brake lights wont light up when I press on the pedal. the rear window brake light will. but the two mail lights in the back of the car will not. I have replaced every bulb on both sides and have checked the light switch under the dash and that is fine. I saw a ground wire too in the trunk but it was secure as well, If it where to be a fuse do you guys know what fuse box it is located in, or the fuse number? or if it is a bad connection, where is the best place to look? is it under the back bumper somewhere? or in the engine compartment? please help!! thank you for the support!! My Hood Release Lever Broke Off, So I've Been Using Pliers To Open Hood. Now That Doesn't Work Anymore. My Oil Light Has Been Coming On (oil Leak Somewhere?) I Always Put In A Quart Of Oil When This Happens. For The Last Week, I Haven't Been Able To Get Under The Hood To Put Oil In. I Kept Figuring I Would Eventually Be Able To Pry It Open...hasn't Happened.
So A Couple Of Days Ago, I Start The Car, And It Quits On Me. The Oil Light And The Battery(charge) Light Comes On. The Only Thing I Can Do Is Put The Car In Neutral And Push It Into A Parking Space. I Thought At First It Might Be The Engine Lacking Oil, But The Check Engine Light Did Not Come On. Then I Tried Using A Battery Booster(inside car) Thinking It Was The Battery, But It Still Doesnt Start. When I Turn The Key In The Ignition It Does Attempt To Turn Over It Seems. My1995 Honda Civic DX 1.5L SOHC will not start. I initially started my car to move it out of a tow-zone in a parking lot. I made it all of 50 feet before my power drastically reduced and my engine killed. The battery was quite old, so I replaced it with a new one. I wasn't successful jumping my car with the old battery, even after allowing it to charge for 10 minutes. After the new battery was installed- I turn the ignition switch to 'ON' the check engine light illuminates and shuts off after about two seconds, I hear the fuel pump start up. I then try to start the car and the engine turns over, but I don't seem to have detonation. The weather is very cold, was sub-zero the day I couldn't get my car started. I let the car rest over night and with the temperature in the 20's F, I was hoping it would start, but it doesn't. Thanks in advance.

I have a 98 caviler z24. I was driving it and everything was fine. I was sitting idle and the car shut off. I hooked up a computer diag and it gave me crankshaft position sensor, ignition coil, and misfire codes. I replace the crank shaft senor. I also replaced the spark plugs, ignition coil, ignition module and car is still not starting. I did a compression test and it reads on each cyclider over 175 and is about the same on all four. My fuel pump is working because when i took the plugs out there is gas on them. What else could be the problem that this car is not starting? I am stumped.

About 1 month ago my Silverado would not start on cold mornings. As the day warmed up the truck would crank up fine. The engine would turn over with no problems but it acted as if it was not firing. After replacing the temperature coolant sensor the problem seemed to have been corrected. After 1 month, this morning it is very cold out and my truck is doing the same thing as last time. Engine turns over fine but that's all it does. No sputtering, nothing. I do hear the fuel pump when the key is first turned on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was trying to get up a icy hill , tiers were spining but i kept it at a lower RPM when my car shut off and wouldnt start back up.
I checked spark plugs and im getting spark i checked fuel pump and changed the fliter but still wont start.

My car is hard to start. When it finally does start it idles really rough. The only way i can explain it is that to me it sounds like it is idled so low it is about to flood. My check engine light is on and when it was checked at auto zone the test said multiple cylinder misfire. When i put the car in drive, it jerks and sounds like it could cut off any minute. When in drive the headlights and the lights inside flicker. When i press the gas it is fine. When i am actually driving the car wont go into the last gear. It whines b/c it wont go into the overdrive mode. When i am on the bypass it used to go into that last gear when i drove for a while but now it wont go at all. We changed the plugs, plug wires, fuel injectors, fuel filter, oil, oil filter and put engine cleaner in it. nothing helped. yesterday we checked the transmission fluid and there was very little in there. we filled that up hoping it would help the shifting problem but that didn't do anything. please help me!!!

2000 Chev Cavalier
My car was running just fine but I decided to change the spark plugs in my 2.2L cavalier from autolite platniums to e3 diamond fires and the stock 7mm wires to taylor brand 8mm performence wires. I was antisipating a better running car when i turned the key but i got a few rough starts and what almost sounded like a knock, i checked the firing order many times over and its all correct so after a while of fiddling with it and having no success i decided to put the stock plugs and wires back in and when i turned the key again it did the same rough start followed with a stall. What could this be?

1997 Chev Cavalier 2.2
My car doesnt want to seem to start when its cold or damp. It turns over and tries to start but it takes a while. I was told to either pump the gas or push the it to the floor while I try to start it. Someone has got it started that way but obviously something is wrong.

Severe chug and hesitation off of a stop
All injectors changed over the course of one failing after another. Have had the fuel rail up 5 times. UGGGH!
Ran smooth like a sewing machine for about 1/2 hour, then back to chugging and sluggish again.
There is some backfiring from the exhaust underneath sometimes as well.

my truck was running fine, but when it got hot at random times it would cut out and die. would let it sit for a minute then start it back up.
sometimes it still wouldnt run, then id let it sit more. but if it did start i couldnt bring the rpm up cuz it would do it again.
i talked to a mechanic and he told me it was the icm, so i repolaced the ignition control module and coil packs and now its not getting spark to the plugs

2001 Chev Cavalier 2001
My 2001 Cavalier idles fine starts fine except when the gas pedal get tight. It shifts just fine starts fine except when the pedal gets tight then if you turn it off it starts but sometimes it tries hard to start if that makes sense. i can drive it and it works fine and then it will get to where you really have to push the pedal almost like the throttle cable is loose. The shop said they had found it was wrapped around something and rerouted it yesterday and it drove fine to work then before I got home it start that again. It's like when push the pedal something is not connecting right. Could it be the throttle cable is stretched out and how much should it cost to have someone replace this?
