1994 Mercury Tracer
1994 Mercury Tracer, 1.9L, Automatic. car was running fine one day, next day did not start. Seemed to be a poor battery(over 5 years old). Replaced battery and still no start. Fuel pump working, power to injectors, fuel smell from spark plugs, spark at spark plug. still no start. turns over fine. Any suggestions?

1965 Ford Mustang
bought a 65 mustang and it cranked and started at the place i bought it. Brought it home and put a new ignition switch because it had broken. went to start the car and it was having a tough time cranking and the positive terminal cable was getting really hot. Tryed to crank it several times. Change the cables from the solenoid to the position terminal and changed the negative and added a ground cable to the fender. It cranks and starts but turns off right away. Seems like too much air coming into carb. When i checked spark plus they were full of gas making it seem they were not igniting.

replaced the fuel pump and sometimes the car starts like normal and sometimes it takes awhile for it starts but when it start i can cut the car off and it will start like normal and when the car sits for 6 to 12 hours it may take awhile before it start but not all the time.

1992 Mitsubishi Montero
I have a 1992 Montero 4x4. It does not start when engine has warmed up. After an hour or so, it will start. WHen it does start, it will die once it is put into gear UNLESS I increase the RPMs by holding down the gass peddle. It idles good. When I do drive it, it goes only 40mps and it has little power to go up hills.
1) No codes shown. 2)I tested IAC its good. 3) I tested Fuel pump, its good. 4) the coil Primary coil read .9ohms. The norm is.72 to .88ohms 5) The secondary read 9.99kohms when cold and 10.66 kohms when hot. The normal range is 14.5k to 19.5k
About 6 months ago it started to stall at stops. But would restart easily. Now it wont restart unless it sits for an hour or so.

I have a 1967 Mustang Convertible, 6 cylinder, 200ci. I 've had an oil leak for quite some time around the oil pan (front and rear). I've replaced the oil pan gasket 3 times and still get the oil leaks. What type of gasket sealer should I be using? What is the torque for the oil pan bolts? and what sequence?

Hi.. I own a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee and lately I have been having problems starting it.. On the first try it won't turn over and then wait and try again then it will start.. As of yesterday after work I had tried to start it and nothing happend all I heard was a clicking noise so I got a boost and made my way home.. Later on that night I had tried to start once again nothing.. Today I went to get a new battery put it in and it had started but the battery gauge is not staying stable it has a twitching motion, now I'm wondering if it could possibly be my alternator going or could it be a battery connection?

SO I BOUGHT THIS CAR KNOWING THE TEMP GAUGE WAS INCONSISTENT AND THE RADIATOR FAN WASN'T WORKING. SO I REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT, COOLANT TEMP SENSOR FOR THE GAUGE AND COMPUTER.(BOTH OF THE SENSORS). SO I THOUGHT THAT THIS WOULD FIX MY PROBLEMS. NOW WITH THE NEW PARTS IN, MY RAD FAN WILL ONLY RUN IF I TURN ON THE A/C AND MY TEMP GAUGE IS WORSE THAN BEFORE. AS I GIVE THE CAR GAS THE TEMP GAUGE MOVES DOWN QUICKLY LIKE A TACHOMETER IN REVERSE. MY HEATER BLOWS HOT AIR AND THE RADIATOR IS HOT ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE TEMP GAUGE MOVES LIKE IT DOES NOW AND WHY THE FAN WONT RUN EVEN WHEN THE TEMP GAUGE GETS NEAR THE RED. IF I UNPLUG THE 2 WIRE CONNECTOR TO THE TEMP SENSOR FOR THE COMPUTER THE FAN WILL COME ON LOW SPEED FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS THEN KICK IN HIGH FOR AS LONG AS THE CAR IS RUNNING. I'M JUST COMPLETELY LOST. ANY HELP AT THIS POINT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

I have a 1989 buick century custom. The car's problem is stalling. The engine just shuts off after it warms up a little bit or after driving or idling for about 5-10 minutes. I already checked fuel pressure(40 psi), replaced crankshaft sensor and ignition switch. The coil pack and ignition module are found to be working properly as I had them checked and tested at Autozone. I did some diagnostics and I found out that there is no injector pulse( while cranking)after the car dies. What could be the possible causes of having no pulse on the injectors. Would it be possible that a defective one injector can cause the engine to stall?

i have a 93 ford probe gt 5 speed. it sometimes gives me trouble starting in the mornings or when i havent drove for a few hours but thats not the problem its when the car warms to normal temp it wants to bog out and cough when i accelerate faster.the rotor button ,cap ,plugwires, and plugs are new . i have been told it could be an egr valve or a throttle controll sensor, but i think it might be the mass air sensor or 02 sensor. what do you think i should try first?

I have had this problem before with my truck. I sat in a parking lot for hours because my truck wont even start. I turn the key over, everything electrical comes on (radio lights etc) but nothing else happens except for a faint hissing noise, so I know its not a dead battery. 1986 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24
I bought a 1986 Cavalier Z24 in perfect running order. While I was saving up money for plates, insurance etc, the car sat in my driveway for about 3 months in the winter (dumb I know). However, I did move it periodically throughout the day. Once the weather started getting below freezing however, I had A LOT of problems getting it to start. It would take 3 or more tries to get it to start. However, now it will not start period. The engine will crank and crank and you can clearly here the spark AND the fuel pump working, however it just will not turn over. It is STILL almsot constantly below freezing as well. What can I do to get it started? It's the stock engine with 47K miles on it, brand new sparks as well. It has electronic fuel injection (I beleive multi-port but I could be wrong on that one). Any ideas?

1989 Engine Mazda 2600i
I have a 1989 mazda 2600i 4x4. It was running fine and then all of a sudden when i was driving down the road it just quit. It acted like it lost the 12v because radio and everything turned off. It started after that and I was able to drive it again for about a 1/2 hour then it died again will I was idling at stop sign. It would turn over and start and die instantly like it was not getting any gas. The wierd thing is if I keep the key turned on it ran fine. Once i let go off the key it instantly dies. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have a 95 monte carlo that continues to run hot, even though i have put a new radiator, and thermostat in it, the water pump works because after i put the new thermostat in the temp went from all the way hot when you would run the vehichle to only getting 2/3 - 3/4 of the way on my dash gauge.

1992 Ford E150 Van
well i just got this van it had a couple problems,Bad water pump,bad thermostat,and they both got fixed.2 days later was still running ok and havent had no problems.then this morning i started it and it died would/will not start again.Its not getting fuel.I cant here the fuel pump.but really never could.So many relays and fuses that tie into the fuel system that i just dont no where to start.I'v checked 1 relay under the hood that runs the fuel system it has a continueous hot and a hot that comes on with the ignition????????

I went out and started my car and put the trans in reverse, attempted to stop exiting my drive and noticed that my power brakes aren't working, I could barely stop my car.... It was below zero in temp last night and right now it is 19 deg and very windy.... I believe they are frozen... How can I warm them up? I need to go to the grocer for cat food w/ my little daughter.... Any ideas? I let the car rest in the sun and tried again and still they are not working... thanks.

1990 Ford Mustang - I Have A 1990 Ford Mustang Notchback, Orig A 4cylender Car But Was Convertider To A Carbed 302 With The Msd 6al Ignition Kit Before I Bought It, The Car Ran Great When I Got It Untill The Motor Blow Up, The Car Has Sat For Around 6 Months, I Just Put In A Stock 302 That I Have Converted Over To Carb, I Am Still Running The 6al System, The Engine Cranks Over And Gets Fuel But Will Not Get Any Spark From The Distributer Or The Coil, I Have Replaced The Coil Which Is The Blaster 2, And I Have Replaced The Starter Silonid. Any Help Would Be Very Helpfull.

I just bought a 2004 Grand Prix. The owner said that "sometimes" they would have to hit the gas to start up the car. Why would this be? Is it the fuel pump? I JUST got rid of a lemon and I am worried I just bought another one. It runs perfect once started up and does not do this all of the time.

1998 Chev 1998 Chevy Cavalier
I Have a 1998 Chevy Cavalier with 81,000 miles on it.
2 door 220 engine automatic. Problem and Symptom. Engine light comes on time to time and coolant light too. Car has power lights come on when turn key on. Had Car parts store check the starter, battery and alternator. They said those were fine. Which leaves me thinking two more possiblities. Either the fuel pump or the timing. I will have to get the
car back to the mechanic on monday. Least I got it home right now. What do you think I should have the
mechanic check next?
