2000 Chev Tracker Malfunction - Electrical & Lighting Systems

Question: Performed a radiator flush and fill procedure. Thought all was fine, but then got a "Service Engine Soon Light" come on a few days later. Did research and found that I had an "On Board Diagnostics II (OBD II)" sensor system in the car controlling everything. Bought a reader for $100 dollars and found the P0335 code was coming up which breaks out to "Crank Shaft Position Sensor Malfunctioning". Looked at a repair manual for my 2000 chevy 2.0L Tracker DOHC engine, talks about needing to remove transmission to replace sensor. Could something else be causing this to falsely come up? Is it really necessary to remove transmission to get at sensor? I've cleared the code with the reader, and can drive about 35 minutes when the engine is cold before it comes on again, if I clear it right then while the engine is still hot it comes back on in a minute even if I don't drive but just let it idle, but if I clear the code and let the car sit overnight it takes 35 minutes again...any words of advice would be much appreciated.

Technican: Hello, I'm going to run this through a data base trouble chart for suggestions. I'll clarify R&R procedure for the sensor. As I'm sure you must know- Your cooling system flush/fill event should have NO cause to this sensor code condition. Back soon,
Technican: Do you have a fax number? Would a cover sheet be needed? The crankshaft sensor is at 6:00 o'clock directly behind the harmonic balancer and is held in place by one bolt. I have graphics and test info for you. Transmission removal is not needed on the 2.0L engine.
Owner: fax number is home number but must call first so I can hook up fax to take home phone line, 813-671-0599. Look forward to your info.
Technican: I'll send you a couple pages! Any chance that coolant got into the sensor connector? Check it out,
Owner: Forgive me, I still can't find the sensor...I saw so many under the hood, and a few under the car, I just don't know if I am really looking at the right one. Thank you for your patience with me.
Technican: Look right behind the harmonic balancer and at the front of the engine oil pan just like the picture shows....it may take looking up from under the Tracker or using a mirror to see it. The harmonic balancer is the bottom pulley at the front of the engine aka crankshaft pulley. I sent info concerning the 2.0L engine. Let me know.
Technican: How are you doing here?
Technican: Will you please update the status of this question?
