Technican: Hi; If you are telling me that is running 550rpm's at 35 mph, then the torque converter is kicking in too early. .
Owner: Hi, when I say the S-10 runs fine at 550 RPM, that is when it is not moving and only has hesitation when accelerating. This is a Chev S-10 with a FIVE SPEED TRANNY, not an auto.
Technican: Hi; Sounds like the distributor module is breaking down. Does it get worse after it gets hot? Thanks.
Technican: Hi, Bad plug wires or weak spark will make a stumble, shake or hesitation under load. Check your tuneup items! Or, try diabling the EGR valve to see if the problem is resolved.
