1994 Chev Corsica Chugging - Engine

Question: My 1994 Corsica has a new alternator, good battery and air cleaner. All test good. It runs fine at a steady speed, but misfires when accelerating. At the same time the Bat, ABS and Airbag lites come on. What might be causing this?

Technican: Hi, My first thought is a bad spark plug wire. I have have bad plug wires arc on electronic parts, causing weird things to happen to the instrument cluster. The other thing I think of is possibly a bad engine ground...when the engine shifts under hard acceration, the ground loses contact, causing misfire and ABS and Airbag lights to activate. Check the battery cable ground connection at the battery and the engine. Check the auxiliary ground from the engine to the body. Look for broken motor mount that may permit excessive movement. Look for signs of stretched wires. Best wishes,
