1991 Chev Corsica Failing - Ignition System

Question: If i drive the corsica and let the engine get warm/hot and shut it off it will start right back up. But if i let it sit for 10 - 15 minutes and then try to start it, it will not start. It cranks but does not spark. After it has cooled down it then starts. I replaced the ignition module but it made no difference.

Technican: Are you sure there is no spark when you try to crank the engine or does it just not start? Here is something I want you to try... start the engine and let it warm up, then allow to cool until it should not start (about 15 minutes) then continue to crank the engine for a period of 10 seconds and see if it starts. Please let me know the results.

Owner: Already did that. Warmed car up, let it cool about 15 minutes would not start. Checked to see if there was any spark and there wasn't. After cooled down for about one and a half hours it started up first try.

Technican: How does the car run when it is running?? Any possibility that the new module is faulty.. yes I have replaced parts and found the new part is also faulty... the Napa should be able to test the Ign Mod. Al

Technican: Also, have you tested the coil? Sounds like the coil is breaking down as it warms up. This is also an easy test item. Test the oms on the high and low side cold then again hot and see how much of a difference there is. Bet you find your problem. .Al
