1998 Chev Cavalier Won't Start - Engine
Question: 2.2 l engine. Has spark, fuel, 175 psi comp. no trouble codes. will not start backfires through throttle body gas can be seen in the bottom of the intake. My question is: How can I verify it is not Ign. related I cannot find any real timing marks to verify TDC #1 cyl. It seems that I have to pull the timing cover to verify the trouble. If I had a bad crank or cam sensor I feel that I would not have any spark at all. Original problem car was started driven 50 ft. and just shut off. Replaced Plugs and fuel filter.
