1993 Chev Cavalier Malfunction - Electrical & Lighting Systems
Question: This ? is for a 1993 Chevy Cavalier Z24 (v-6).
The anti-lock brake light and the flashing parking brake light stay on. Lights go off when 30 amp fuse is replaced, but fuse blows again soon after. My heating/cooling unit is also not working.
Brakes have been checked and are fine. Have been told there is something causing the fuse to blow. What do you think is the cause? If it were an electrical short somewhere, would that come on a diagnostic check at the dealership?
Many thanks

Technican: you definetly have a short somewhere. possibly the ABS assembly itself (ABS motor)
a "diagnostic check" usually refers to connecting car to a computer.. some ABS systems can be scanned for fault codes.. unsure as to yours, it is a bit on the older side, usually requires manually checking ABS electrical system by qualified auto tech.... Owner: One last dumb ? and you're paid. :)
Could something possibly catch on fire if I don't get this fixed soon? I understand my anti-lock brakes won't work until I do, but other than that...is this something I should fix right away or could this wait a while? (Afraid this is going to cost mucho-$$$.)
Thanks for your help
Sincerely...gal who knows NOTHING about cars Technican: I dont believe it will start a fire.. if in doubt you can pull the ABS relay in the underhood relay center. that will kill power to the ABS unit Here's How To Get Guaranteed Solutions In Minutes
