2001 Chev Camaro Chugging - Engine

Question: The Camaro chuggs/chokes at any given time but seems to do it more within a minute of start (not directly afterwards). It also happens mainly under high electrical or performance loads. I have changed oil and fuel/air filters. I am getting a new high output alternator (due to stock alt failure) but im wondering if the coil wire (like u said to the 1997) is to blame. I have had to change on coil before on the engine but i havent looked at them since. Any ideas?

Technican: Is the alternator not working now? If it is not you will need to replace the alternator and see if the problem goes away. If the alternator is working- Which engine do you have? Does the check engine light (or MIL) come on while the engine is running?
Owner: I am waiting on the new high output alternator to come in (tomarrow hopefully). I have the 3800 v6 and the check engine light doesnt come on
Technican: Okay, let me know if the problem clears up with a working alternator.
Owner: the new alt took a little longer than expected but i was able to get it in on the 8th. ive havent really driven it that much since then but the problem has reoccured again but it was realatively shorter(either im getting better at corecting it or the new alt helped a litle)
Technican: How many miles? Have you checked the plugs wires? Also check the coils for signs of misfiring (carbon tracking) possibly caused by corrosion in the coil towers. A misfire should turn on the check engine light. The next thing to check is fuel pressure. You'll need a gauge for this. I think some parts stores will lend the gauge (for a fully refundable deposit).
